The Ford pickup was operated by Douglas Hollis of Sumrall, who had passenger Robert W. Breland Jr., 54, also of Sumrall, inside the vehicle. The force of the collision caused fatal injuries to Hollis, and the Jefferson Davis County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene. Breland suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
