 Iron Mountain, Michigan — Recently, Shannyn Caldwell, a beloved writer, traditional naturopath, radio personality, and the founder of Healing Season, has passed away, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy filled with compassion, faith, and joy. Shannyn was born and raised in Iron Mountain, Michigan, and her life centered on her dedication to helping others, her love for holistic health, and the strong connections she forged with her friends, family, and larger community.


Shannyn was a skilled communicator, inspiring thousands of listeners as a host on Family Life Radio since 2010 in Tucson, Arizona. Her passion for guiding individuals toward both physical and spiritual health was also evident during her earlier role as a host with Greater Media Detroit from 2000 to 2006, based in Ferndale, Michigan.

Beyond her radio endeavors, Shannyn’s dedication to wellness led her to study naturopathic medicine at the Genesis School of Natural Health, where she earned her certification as a Traditional Naturopathic Doctor in 2019. Additionally, she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wright State University, graduating in 1992, reflecting her creative and artistic inclinations.

As the founder and managing director of Healing Season, Shannyn created thoughtful and individualized programs that blended holistic wellness techniques with spiritual guidance, making a significant and lasting impact on many lives. She also founded Hope Yoga, where she encouraged the cultivation of inner peace and external harmony through mindful movement, meditation, and spirituality-infused practices. Friends and family remember Shannyn as a lively, supportive, and deeply joyful person. A close friend shared, “My dear, sweet, wonderful friend Shannyn Caldwell has returned to Jesus in Heaven. God united us during a pivotal time, and we supported each other through tough moments while also sharing many joyful experiences. She fondly called me Pastor Princess and introduced me to Taco Tuesday. I feel profound sorrow at her absence, but I take comfort in knowing that I will see her again in paradise.” Her vibrant spirit, warmth, and unwavering faith made every moment spent with her truly memorable.

Shannyn’s influence continues through her daughter, Alex Biedenbach; her aunts Lynn Cook and Terry Newcomb Masty; her niece Taylor Caldwell; and her cousins Ben Cook, Denise Johnson, and Marissa Parker. She also leaves behind numerous friends, colleagues, and students whose lives have been enriched by her love, guidance, and mentorship.
