At approximately 2:45 a.m. on December 1, 2025, officers responded to 14005 Mundy Drive after receiving notifications about gunfire within the popular local venue. Upon arriving, they found a man—identified later as 30-year-old Justin Burton—who had suffered injuries consistent with a single gunshot wound.

Despite lifesaving measures performed by police and medical staff, Burton was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities reported that the alleged shooter, Maclean Murt, remained on-site and was taken into custody without resistance. Early investigation details indicate that a dispute over a vape occurred between the victim and the suspect shortly before the shooting happened. Investigators have not released additional details about the altercation.

The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the victim’s identity is Justin Burton, a highly regarded manager at the Conrad Hotel located in downtown Indianapolis. His death has caused shock and grief throughout the hospitality community, where he was well-respected.
