Bethpage Fatal Stabbing: Anthony Ciampa, Owner of A&A Deli-Pizza, and his wife Angela Slain in Double Homicide

A peaceful neighborhood on Long Island is reeling from a heartbreaking double homicide involving two longtime residents of Plainedge, who were also well-known deli owners, which took place during a violent sequence of events on Thursday morning. Authorities believe that their son, known as Veto, is responsible for both killings.

Mother Killed Near School District Grounds

The incident began near the property of the Plainedge Union Free School District on Hicksville Road, close to the former location of Brills. Early reports suggest that Veto had a confrontation with his mother, Angela, fatally wounding her in the neck during a sudden and severe altercation.

Emergency personnel arrived shortly thereafter, but Angela, a beloved and recognized figure within the Plainedge community, was pronounced dead at the location.

Father Murdered Shortly After at A&A Deli

Following the initial attack, authorities claimed that Veto proceeded south along Hicksville Road and entered A&A Deli, the family’s well-frequented establishment. His father, Tony, who operated the deli alongside Angela, was present at the time.

Sources from law enforcement say that Veto then assaulted his father, inflicting several stab wounds in another fatal episode. Tony was also pronounced dead at the scene, leaving the Plainedge community in shock over the sudden loss of two longtime residents and businessowners.

Extensive Police Presence at Nearby Mini Market

The second incident led to a notable law enforcement presence at the nearby A&A Mediterranean Mini Market located at 4240 Hicksville Road, as officers initially suspected there could be additional victims. The mini-market was entirely cleared while officers from various divisions arrived to secure the area.

Anthony Ciampa, who owned A&A Deli Italian Deli-Pizza, along with his spouse Angela Ciampa, has been confirmed as a victim of the violence perpetrated by their son, Veto, outside of their establishment that morning.

Anthony Ciampa, operating A&A Deli Italian Deli-Pizza with his wife Angela, has been identified as the individual killed by their son, Veto, in front of their business this morning.

Multiple patrol vehicles, detectives, and crime scene investigators swarmed the plaza as officers evacuated the area, reviewed surveillance footage, and extended the perimeter around both locations of the incidents.

Community Disturbed by Loss of Renowned Family

Angela and Tony were described by neighbors and devoted customers as hard-working, friendly, and closely connected to the Plainedge community. Their deli has served as a fixture in the area for many years, becoming a frequent stop for local residents and students.

The news of their deaths has plunged the local population into mourning, with many expressing disbelief that such a violent act could take place in their typically peaceful neighborhood.

Investigation Ongoing; Area Will Stay Off-Limits

Officials have urged residents to avoid the area while investigators continue to gather evidence and carry out interviews. Sections of Hicksville Road remain blocked, and further information is expected as detectives strive to uncover the details surrounding the tragedy.
