Tucson, AZ — A violent confrontation late on Monday night has resulted in a man's death and a woman being hospitalized due to a shooting that took place both at a residence and a nearby restaurant on Tucson's west side.
According to the Tucson Police Department (TPD), the incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. on November 10, 2025, near the 2200 block of West Ironwood Hill Drive. When officers arrived, they discovered a woman with gunshot injuries at a home. She received immediate medical assistance from the Tucson Fire Department (TFD) on site before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Officers also found 34-year-old Casey Sheehan Kneisel at a nearby dining establishment, suffering from serious gunshot wounds. Emergency responders attempted to assist him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation and Arrest
Homicide detectives and members of the Crime Scene Unit quickly arrived at both locations to investigate the situation. Initial findings suggest that an argument took place at the house between the suspect and the two victims, which escalated into gunfire. The initial volley of shots resulted in injuries to both victims. Kneisel, severely injured, attempted to seek safety in the nearby restaurant, but the suspect followed him and continued to shoot inside.
A swift law enforcement response led to the apprehension of the suspect, 35-year-old Philip Michael Chambers Jr. Chambers has been arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail on several charges:
First-Degree Murder
Improper Firearm Use (Prohibited Possessor)
Two Counts of Aggravated Assault (Domestic Violence)
