Authorities have disclosed the name of the person who was killed in a violent shooting that followed a tense hostage situation involving police on Monday night in Union Township.
The incident began at approximately 8:42 p.m. at a home located on Cider Mill Drive after officers were called due to a 911 call that was suddenly cut off. Upon their arrival, the police encountered a swiftly deteriorating scenario that escalated into a crisis involving hostages inside the residence.
According to investigators, the confrontation ended when law enforcement fired their weapons multiple times, an event captured by a neighbor's doorbell camera, showing at least six shots being discharged. One individual was transported to Mercy Hospital Anderson but sadly did not survive his injuries there.
The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased as 37-year-old Thomas Noble.
No injuries were reported among the officers who responded to the incident.
The Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation is actively carrying out a detailed inquiry into both the shooting and the events leading up to it. Additional details regarding the hostage situation as well as the reasons that led to the use of lethal force have not yet been revealed by officials.
