This heartbreaking incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. in the driveway of his home situated on the 300 block of Spartan Loop, as Carson was waiting for his school bus to arrive.

At that moment, Carson was positioned at the front of the driveway when his grandmother, Kristen Anders, began to operate her 2016 GMC Yukon. Local authorities indicated that the dimensions of the vehicle limited her view, and it appears she did not see Carson in front of her. Unfortunately, the child was hit and pronounced deceased at the scene.

An investigation carried out by the Slidell Police Department uncovered that Anders was under the influence of alcohol and central nervous system depressants during the accident. She has been arrested and charged with vehicular homicide.
