NY – The Jamestown community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 4-year-old Leanna Herrera, a pupil in the Jamestown School District. She was tragically struck by a school bus outside Milton J. Fletcher Elementary School early Monday morning.
The incident took place at around 8:08 a.m. at the intersection of Cole Avenue and Whitehill Avenue. Leanna was transported to UPMC Chautauqua, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The Panama Central School District reported that the bus driver was in the process of dropping off another child at the time of the accident. Officials have confirmed that no charges are currently being filed against the driver, and everyone involved is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
