Kennarius Roshawn McBride Fatally Shot at Waynesboro Sunoco; Jalen Floyd Cox Taken into Custody as Alleged Shooter

 The Waynesboro community is mourning the tragic loss of Kennarius Roshawn McBride, who died on Thursday, November 13, following a shooting at the Sunoco gas station situated on E. 7th Street. Officials report that the altercation originated within the convenience store and escalated to gunfire, leading to McBride suffering fatal injuries.

Deputies from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, accompanied by officers from the Waynesboro Police Department, arrived at the scene around midday. McBride was transported to Burke Medical Center, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries. The shocking and violent nature of his passing has left family, friends, and neighbors in deep shock.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage and named Jalen Floyd Cox as a potential suspect. Cox later turned himself in to the Burke County Detention Center, although authorities emphasize that the investigation is still ongoing.
