Aaron Papazoglu Detained: Aaron Papazoglu Identified as Minor Driver Charged in Hornsby Parking Lot Event that Resulted in Death of Pregnant Woman

 A 33-year-old expectant mother tragically lost her life along with her unborn baby following a multi-vehicle collision in the northwestern region of Sydney. Law enforcement has taken a teenage motorist into custody regarding this event.

Emergency personnel were alerted shortly after 8 pm on Friday (14 November 2025) after reports surfaced of a pedestrian being hit near the parking lot entrance on George Street in Hornsby.

Officials assert that a BMW driven by 19-year-old Aaron Papazoglu crashed into the rear of a Kia Carnival, leading to the Kia being pushed forward and striking the woman as she walked beside her husband and their three-year-old child.

Paramedics from NSW Ambulance attended to the eight-month-pregnant woman and subsequently transported her in critical condition to Westmead Hospital. Despite their efforts to save her life, both she and her unborn child unfortunately succumbed shortly after arrival.

The operators of the BMW and the 48-year-old Kia driver did not incur any injuries. Both were subjected to mandatory testing. Neither vehicle had any passengers on board.

Law enforcement agents from the Ku-Ring-Gai Police Area Command established a crime scene, and the Crash Investigation Unit conducted a detailed forensic examination throughout the night.

Around 12:45 am on Saturday (15 November 2025), officers arrested Papazoglu at an address on Millewa Avenue in Wahroonga. He was taken to Hornsby Police Station and now faces charges including:

Authorities indicate that the young driver, who has a provisional license, could potentially receive a sentence of up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Papazoglu has been denied bail and is set to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.

The husband of the deceased woman and their young son, who witnessed the tragic incident, were not physically harmed, though they did receive care for shock at the location.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing. Police are urging anyone who may have observed the incident or anyone with dashcam footage from George Street around 8 pm on Friday to contact Crime Stoppers.
