 The investigation into the shooting death of 38-year-old Eddie Hairston III is underway, conducted by Chesterfield County Police, following the incident that took place on Thursday morning, September 25, 2025.

Officers responded to a report of a deadly assault at approximately 4:07 a.m. in the 12300 block of Moores Lake Road. Upon arrival, they found Hairston suffering from multiple gunshot injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the location.

Initial reports indicate that Hairston was shot by a resident of the household, an adult woman, during a domestic dispute, after he allegedly threatened to kill her and physically assaulted her while armed. Authorities are currently treating this case as a justified homicide. Police have stated that the public is not facing any ongoing threat.
