 Hunter Davis, 27, from Henrico, passed away on Tuesday evening due to a tragic incident on Interstate 295 in Hanover, Virginia.


According to the Virginia State Police (VSP), at approximately 6:30 p.m., law enforcement was summoned to investigate a single-vehicle accident in the southbound direction near Exit 38 near Pole Green Road. Davis was driving a 2011 white Ford F-250 when it veered off the road, collided with another car, and ignited, as per officials. Authorities confirmed that prior to the crash, an unknown assailant had discharged a firearm at the vehicle.


Emergency responders pronounced Davis dead at the site. While investigators examined the area, traffic was redirected at Exit 41 towards Route 301. The roadway remained shut down for several hours before it reopened on Wednesday at 4:30 a.m.
